The number of people who talk about how busy and tired they are, and will be in the future, is unending.
Of course there are reasons people do this- to gain sympathy, build rapport with another busy person, show others how "hardworking" you are, have something to talk about...etc
What I've found, and this I learned in a busier time of my life--》 it is really tiring to think and talk about how tired and busy you are going to be. More than this, we are assuming that we know exactly how our future is going to turn out. This assumption is based on our past experiences and is also one of the most common thinking errors in psychology "mind-reading".
When we mind read, we imagine that we know exactly how things are going to turn out. Unfortunately, the more you think of a situation panning out a certain way, the more likely you are to make those dreams come true!
Here's my take:
Tell people about what you are excited about in the next wk (not what you are dreading).
When you are busy, don't track the amount of sleep you are getting, just get as much as you can.
This tends to leave me feeling much better than when I tell myself "ugh, you've only gotten 5 hrs!".
Your body is much more likely to get the rest it needs if you don't count, and just get as much as you need, as it will far less anxious and tense:)
Lastly, be grateful for the little sleep you do get, afterall- you got 5 but you coule have gotten just 2:)
